Books are amazing. Period. Movies are the very air some of us breathe. Again, that’s accepted. When books are made into movies? It’s the best thing ever. Or is it? Sometimes, certain books should’ve never been made into movies. Here’s a list of a few of them:
The books series is good. The characters all have their strong points and their characteristic weaknesses. There’s the sexy-as-hell lead couple Rose and Dimitri who make the books more than worth your while. Then, they made the movie. Disaster should’ve been its name.Poor casting and bad screenplay are enough reasons to stay away from this one.
If you’ve read the books, you will definitely love Eragon, Saphira and even Alagaesia. This means that you’re imaginings of them will clash horribly with those that you’ll see in the movie. While Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Irons were perfect fits for Saphira and Brom, the movie will not leave feeling nice at the end. Something’s definitely missing in this one.
The sequels are much better. That has to be mentioned before discussing how this one is the worst ever. The book is fine. But the screenplay isn’t all that great but the acting will leave you wondering just exactly how the most of the cast was picked…and, why?
Douglas Adam’s unique, quirky humour is totally lost in its first voyage into the big screens. While the dry humour works in favour of the film the poor casting and bad effects don’t. Maybe we should just read the books and stop right there with this one.
Anthony Horowtiz’s books are good. However, one wonders if they are apt for the big screen? Well, this one is pretty messed up. It’s not bad but I bet you won’t even think of watching it again before you form opinions.
Scott. F. Fitzgerald’s writing is long and convoluted. However, it will keep you enthralled and thrilled. The movie doesn’t do that despite the spectacular visuals.
I don’t get what the makers were thinking while making this one. The book is a great piece of work and naturally, the movie sucks. Jack Black has definitely had better moments in his career than this one.
Well, if you like the book then you might like the movie. However, this one lacks in emotion, acting, casting…. The movie won’t move you and that’s kinda sad because the book is amazing for precisely that reason.
Yet another Nicholas Sparks novel that’s been made into a movie. Once again, it lacks the essence of the book that will leave you marvelling and touched. Miley Cyrus isn’t really the best choice for this one but that’s not the only flaw here.
I loved the books. Both Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters are big let downs. The former had stellar cast and managed to fail miserably while the latter tried to make up for all the faults in the former and turned out to be even worse.
